About Jack's Action Shots

HISTORY: Jack Eberhard has been a softball player for many years. He understands the game, and how to take the best sports action shots. He has been taking digital pictures for 10 years, and has gotten serious about action photography for the last six years.

Jack started as a player-photographer at softball games, and has recently been taking photos at senior softball tournaments.

When Jack started playing senior softball, he began donating his photos to SSUSA (Senior Softball USA) Softball News. They were so impressed with his action shots, he has been the official photographer for SSUSA for the past two years.

The interest in high school sports began when Jack was taking photos of his granddaughter playing softball when she attended Grandview High School in 2005. The coaches at Grandview liked Jack's photos so much, they asked him to take photos of other Grandview sports, such as roller hockey and basketball. Jack took photos at the Colorado State High School Soccer Championships, too.

EQUIPMENT: Jack's first film camera was a Nikon 2E. He then started using a Canon digital camera at senior softball games. In 2002, he acquired a Nikon D-70 8.6 megapixel camera.

In 2007, Jack was using a Nikon D-200 SLR 10.2 megapixel camera with 80x -200x zoom. This camera is well suited for taking action photography.

Jack now uses a Nikon D-300, a 12.3 megapixel camera that can shoot up to 8 pictures per second.

Jack's Action Shots have appeared in the Aurora Sentinal, Softball Today, and Geezer Jock magazines.
